be the change....

"Be the change you wish to see in the world"

It really warms my heart when I hear about people doing random
acts of kindness for complete strangers.  How wonderful this
world would be if each and every one of us took a few moments
out of our busy lives to lend a helping hand to someone in need.  Kindness
breeds kindness, and a prime example is a fabulous
lady named Barb Giraud who traveled to Uganda
a few years ago and fell in love with the people.

She met a young man in his early twenties named Edwin
who had a dream to build a home for the children who were living on the streets in Jinga, Uganda on land that a family member had donated to him.  When Barb returned home she spent many hours baking banana bread, while holding down a full time job to help Edwin fulfill his dream.  Read all about her in this wonderful article.

Wonderful things have been happening since that article
came out.  Please check out Barb's blog and read all about
the fabulous progress they have made with a lot of hard work
and the kindness of family, friends and strangers all over the
world donating to this very important cause.

What they are really in need of right this moment is to finish all the
walls surrounding the home, so the children can move in and have
a safe environment to live in.  Can you imagine how much joy
and happiness this will bring to these wonderful children?

Isn't it amazing how the dream of a young man has blossomed and
come to fruition because he and Barb crossed paths a few years ago.
His dream lit a fire within her that burns very strong and she has done
the same to all of us that have been following her story.  What a wonderful
chain of kindness.  I'd like to keep that chain going by asking each and
every one of you to do without that morning coffee, afternoon snack or
that movie you were planning on seeing this week and give a few dollars
to help complete this project.  The smiles and tears of the children that
will benefit from it will live within your heart forever - I promise!

They are hoping to raise $17,000 and so far have raised a little
over $5,500.  There are 87 more days to make a difference
in the lives of many beautiful children in Uganda if you
can find it in your heart to help.  Here is the link:

Have a beautiful day!
